Simulations
Below you will find a number of simulations. These simulations tend to be representative and are intended to teach a concept rather than to be used to run scientific investigations. With that said, attempts are made within each simulation to adhere as close as possible to the underlying scientific principals and actual numbers.
The target audience and use for these simulations are a guided exploration within a middle school science classroom (US grades 6-8, ages 11-14).
Waves
This simulation was designed as an initial exploration into the concept of waves. It includes multiple demonstrations of mechanical waves and attempts to demonstrate how waves can transfer energy without transferring matter

Chemistry
This simulation was designed to teach the concepts of states of matter and phase changes. We made every effort to maintain particle movement and accuracy while still allowing the base concepts to be explored.

Astronomy
Although this simulation is titled “seasons,” it is primarily an exploration of how many hours and how intense the sun’s light is on different parts of the Earth at different times of the year. We use this simulation as part of our “Seasons” section in our Astronomy unit in 8th grade science.
